The SA Feldherrnhalle dagger was instituted in 1937 for the leaders of the Standarte Feldherrnhalle and for leaders in the staff of the SA Chief of Staff Viktor Lutze. The design of the dagger was created by Paul Casberg and was exclusively manufactured by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. The daggers were all numbered and it is believed that about fifty were manufactured. In the 1960’s some original parts, including the blades were found in one of the Eickhorn factories, these were then sold and fittings were manufactured and daggers were produced for the collecting market, this is what we believe this example to be and is being sold as. These later produced examples are highly sought after by collectors today as an original examples are almost impossible to find and when they do come onto the market demand a premium price which most collectors can not justify.
