A pen and ink cartoon of a duel, c 1820, entitled "A bull-et of communication" ( a pun on Papal Bull of Exconmunication), below which an amusing m/s poem "Exchanging-Receiving the difference" describing how the 2 characters in the cartoon were overcome by mortal fear and fired their pistols into the air!. Neatly mounted and framed in maple, 14" x 17"
* A good pair of DB 20 bore top lever hammerless boxlock ejector sporting guns by Webley & Scott, number 135296, 42?" overall, barrels 26", and number 135298, 42?" overall, barrels 26", numbered "1" and "2" in gold on fore end caps, top ribs and top levers, automatic top safeties, scroll engraved frames and trigger guards, light coloured walnut stocks with chequered fore ends and wrists, the oval GS escutcheons engraved "S J G". VGWO and almost as New Condition, retaining virtually all original blued and colour hardened finish (a few very minor knocks to stocks), in their fitted crimson baize lined brass bound leather covered case, with maker's label, straps and carrying handle.
