An early 19th Century English tea bowl and saucer transfer printed and enamelled with beasts on a seaweed and frond ground, S/D; two Chinese exports blue and white tea bowls decorated with warriors on horse back, 3.5" diameter; a Delft pottery tile with river landscape scene, 5" square, (4). Damages.
A 1930's Lalique scent bottle in the Dahlia pattern, the compressed circular body moulded in relief to each side with a large single flower bloom picked out in a green stain and enamel finish rising to a domed frosted stopper, bears acid signature to the base, height 5.25".
A 1970's Royal Brierley commemorative crystal goblet made for the formation of Dudley Metropolitan borough and decorated with acid etched crests over the clear cut ground, complete with limited edition certificate numbered 77 of 100, height 8.25", together with two smaller commemorative crystal pieces.
A late 19th Century Stevens & Williams rainbow ware posy bowl, the compressed ovoid body double cased with vertical bands of cranberry pale blue, lime green and yellow over horizontal white bands and an all over quilted satin air trap, the whole raised to applied clear crystal shell feet and later fitted with a pierced brass grill, height 6", S/D.
A late 19th Century Stourbridge cranberry glass epergne possibly by Richardson's having a wide shallow frill edge bowl rising to a central fluted with three lower flutes, three twist canes and three hanging baskets, the whole trimmed in clear crystal over cranberry, height 20", S/D.
A late 19th Century pressed glass covered sugar possibly by Sowerby having a quatrelobed body raised to lion pad feet with conforming domed cover all in a tonal blue marbled finish, together with a small table salt and a later iridescent finish bowl with gilded flowers, S/D.
An early Victorian Kingwood bureau plat, circa 1860 in the Louis XV manner, the rectangular leather lined top of serpentine outline with a gilt bronze moulded border, the frieze with a concave kneehole drawer flanked by two drawers at each side veneered sans traverse on cabriole legs with acanthus leading to scrolled sabots, each end applied applied with a female mask, 81cm high, 208cm long (2ft 8ins by 6ft 10ins) *Provenance: Purchased Sotheby's Thoresby Hall, Newark, Sale May 1989. There listed in the inventory of 23rd February 1900, prepared on the death of the Third Earl Manvers. This desk follows a familiar Louis XV style of the 1740's and appears in late 19th century photographs of the house in the library. From the 1930's it became common practice for wealthy patrons to commission copies of existing French furniture of the 18th century. Many of these copies were executed in France built some, as this lot, were made by English manufacturers.
