Georges Jacobi: a 19th century silver metal mounted conductor`s baton presented by the Cercle Des Beaux-Arts, probably on his retirement as conductor from the orchestra of the Opera-Comique, Paris. Georges Jacobi became musical director of the Theatre Des Bouffes where he mainly conducted operettas of Offenbach. He was Music Director from 1872 - 1898 at the Alhambra Theatre, London, becoming twice President of the Association of Conductors in England. He died in London in 1906.
