REEL: Unusual early 4” Sun & Planet all brass narrow drum salmon reel, no maker’s mark visible, rotating polished bone handle on brass collar operates internal gear mechanism, egg timer style pillars with external lock nuts, 1 missing, off set brass foot, really heavy constructed for size, not seen before.
SALESMAN’S FLY SAMPLE SET: Large collection of salmon flies on cards, ex salesman’s set, unknown brand comprising of 12 huge decorative flies 3”- 6” long, on eyed barbed black salmon irons, each marked to rear with reference number, size and model code, a large quantity of other salmon flies reducing in size from 2”- 1”, some gut eyed models included, assorted bright and traditional patterns, perhaps an export set, staples to cards generally rusted, flies generally good, larger flies clean condition, ideal for framing, all kept within black japanned deed box.
REEL: Early Allcock Aerial 3.5” Centrepin reel model 7950-T2, 6 spoke see through drum with tension regulator, 6 holes to front flange, stamped “Patent”, ebonite rear flange, twin crazed handles, wire line guide, optional check button to backplate, no maker’s details showing, bronze calliper check, correct smooth brass foot, retains good lead finish, no visible damage or cracks, spins well, dates c 1914-25.
