Flynn (1939-), "Sisters in Summertime", signed, titled on verso, acrylic, 25.5 x 35.5cm.; 10 x 14in. * Dianne Flynn was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire in 1939 and has been a full-time artist since 1976. She attended art schools in Huddersfield and Batley before going on to Manchester School of Art in 1970. Dianne graduated three years later with a Diploma in Art & Design. After a further year of study at Leeds Polytechnic, she was awarded an Art Teacher`s Certificate in 1974. Artists' Resale Right ("droit de suite") may apply to this lot.

Jardine (1920-2002), "Old Witch Trapped in a Greenhouse", signed, titled on artist's label verso, unframed, oil on board, 61.5 x 46.5cm.; 24.25 x 18.25in. * Born and lived in Wallasey, Cheshire. He attended Wallasey School of Art, 1936, and Royal College of Art, 1939 - 43. From 1944 - 80 he was a lecturer in graphics at Liverpool College of Art. Jardine` s own pictures were early influenced by Indian miniature painting and Surrealism, especially Max Ernst. Jardine also painted many portraits. He showed with Sandon Studios Society and Liverpool Academy, both of which he was a member, the Royal Academy, the Royal Cambrian Academy and elsewhere. Had several solo exhibitions at Portal Gallery; also Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead; Bluecoat Gallery, Liverpool; in Belgium and America. The Williamson Arts Council, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and the University there hold examples. Artists` Resale Right (droit de suite) may apply to this lot.
