F., numbered 1307, and with Louis Japy Fils Medailles d'Argent 1844-1849 stamp. The clock case engraved with floral and foliate detail surmounted by a pedestal urn and on an ovoid base, sat within a glass dome and decorated with foliage, birds and insects, on an ebonised base containing a musical movement. Unique watch of the Napoleon III era in a neoclassical style made of ivory. The porcelain dial, presumably from the royal manufacture of Sevres, is decorated with the image of a flying Cupid with a wreath and musical instruments. Time scale with Roman numerals on a gilded blue background in a gilded brass frame. The lower frieze is painted with oil paints, decorated with images of playing Cupids, musical instruments and flower garlands. The clock is mounted on an ivory pedestal decorated with decor. The mechanism is marked ''S. Marti & Cie - Bronze Medal and the badge Chameroy - 178.S. Marti was a famous watchmaker in the second half of the 19th century. S. Marti regularly exhibited his watches at exhibitions in Paris, where he received a Certificate of Honor in 1839, a bronze medal in 1860, a silver medal in 1889 and several gold medals (1841, 1851, 1852, 1900) between 1860 and 1900 years after the company received its bronze medal at the Paris Exhibition in 1860, the medal was indicated on the mechanism as a reward for quality. In the 1860s, the company collaborated with various famous French watchmakers, incl. Roux and Japy Frères. In the archives, Chameroy was listed among the Parisian watchmakers of the 19th century. During the inspection of the clock, a gift inscription was found on the inside of the pedestal with a closed brass plate - Wedding gift to Marie Dessarps... Dimensions: 50 x 37.5 x 23.5 cm. An antique and magnificent French Mantle clock, 19th century, period of Napoleon III, made of bronze (remains of gilding) and hand-painted porcelain panels in the 'Sevres' style with figures of allegorical angels to music, (The painter who decorated the porcelain signed - see close-up photo), the mechanism is made by Japy Freres, some of the porcelain plates must be reinforced in place, there is a pendulum and keys, but the working condition of the clock has not been checked, one of the rear legs has been replaced and is not original and one hand is missing, Side width from front to back: 16 cm, Base width: 26 cm, Height: 58 cm.
