Grenadier Guards Victorian Regimental Drum Major’s Mace.A fine rare example. The Malacca shaft surmounted by a gilt mushroom top surmounted by a miniature crown. The ornate top with applied title scroll, gilt floral decoration, VR cypher within laurel sprays and flaming grenade with ball mounted with silver crowned VR cypher reversed and interlaced. The rim of the top supports ornate silver battle honours to Tel-El-Kebir, one absent. The gilt remains fresh. The shaft retains gilt collar supporting criss-cross gilt chains terminating at the 16 inch long chape. Gilt bright and fresh. Approx. 62 inches overall.Believed refurbished by Potters.

Honourable Artillery Company Victorian Officer’s ‘Albert’ pattern shako circa 1844-55.A fine rare example. The body of black beaver skin with black patent leather crown, neck and front peaks. To the front a fine silvered crowned star (toned) bearing a gilt flaming grenade with silver VR cypher mounted on the ball. A pair of silver rose bosses support and interlinked chin chain with replacement material backing. To the crown a gilt ornate ball holder supports a large white wool ball tuft (pom-pom). 2x WW1 German Grenade Hafts, rare wood haft for the M.15 stick grenade marked 5½ SEK’ and a sectioned haft for an M.16 or 17, probably for ordnance training, which displays the method of the priming of the grenade. Markings on the grenade haft are ‘C.S.S.’ plus ‘SB.20.6½ 1.6’ complete with end cap, porcelain ball and string pull.

Rare Inert WW1 German 1915 Petard Raquette Type "Hairbrush" Grenade, very rare example of the primitive early forerunner to the German traditional stick grenade is this type based on the Petard Raquette type grenades issued to French soldiers in WW1. The steel metal box attached to a long wooden paddle handle. The grenade top is complete with the original card box which would have contained the explosive charge (now empty). Much of the original finish remains. An excellent period image of this grenade can be seen in the French book “Les Grenades Allemandes De La Grande Guerre” by Patrice Delhomme, on page 34. Scarce Inert 1914 Pattern Turkish WW1 “Cricket Ball” Grenade, spherical blacked grenade with steel screw cap top. Arabic letter to one side of the grenade. Remains in very good condition. Please note this item is empty, safe and legal to own. This item cannot be shipped. The Turkish 1914 pattern grenade was the type used by the Turkish forces during the Gallipoli campaign. The Australian soldiers in action against the Turkish forces nicknamed the grenade, “The Cricket Ball” because of its shape and also the first issues had a longer fuse, so these were quite often returned by opposing troops, the Turkish forces later made a shorter fuse.

Alpine Mountain Battery and Mecklenburg Field Artillery Insignia, two pieces of beautifully embroidered insignia, one being a yellow flaming grenade on blue, the other being a white/cream flaming grenade on blue. These were worn both on the side of the specific mountain cap for Alpine Artillery Batteries, also on the lower left sleeve of one regiment of Field Artillery being Mecklenburg Artillery Regiment No.60.

WW1 Stormtroopers Arm Badge in Commemorative Frame, a highly attractive illuminated citation, wooden framed, the frame measuring 71 x 53cm with the central illuminated scroll measuring 34 x 48cm. At the top of the frame a painted Iron Cross 2nd class, the scroll, which is an Ehren Chronical awarded to Wilhelm Schneider with a photograph of Schneider who was part of the Guard Field Pioneer Unit, Flamethrower Abteilung. A small oval picture of Schneider to the centre wearing the cloth skull and crossbones arm badge to his left sleeve. To the lower left hand section of the frame is the original arm badge of the skull and crossbones, which Schneider has removed from his tunic and placed in the frame with the central over-stamp of the Prussian 3rd Guard Pioneer Battalion 12th Company. Very nice illuminated artwork of a storm trooper wearing the Grenade badge around his shoulders carrying grenades in his hand and belt. The reverse of the frame is lined with just post WWI German newspaper.
