Chelsea – Cup Kings - Peter Osgood & Ron Harris signed 1970 print This superb of memorabilia pays tribute to the legends of Stamford Bridge, the late Peter ‘Ossie’ Osgood and Ron ‘Chopper’ Harris This large photo print shows both players with the FA Cup after their FA Cup reply win over Leeds United in 1970Ossie and Chopper have personally signed in the bottom border under their image and measures in at an impressive 60cm by 42cm (approx)It is a limited edition with each individually numbered and you will also receive a photo of Osgood signing the print superb item of Chelsea signed memorabilia to commemorate two of the greatest players in the clubs history In total, Osgood made 380 appearances for The Blues, scoring 150 goals. He was one of only nine players to score in every round of the FA Cup (and, to date, the last to do so), helping Chelsea to victory in a replayed final against Leeds United in 1970He scored Chelsea's equaliser in the second game at Old Trafford with a diving header from Charlie Cooke's chipped pass twelve minutes from full time; his side eventually won 2-1 Osgood was commonly called "Ossie" and also earned the nickname "The King of Stamford Bridge" due to his exceptional skills as a player as well as his personality and status. Osgood was known as a charming and confident man, and on the pitch, he had the slight touch of arrogance found in great football players Few things summarise his status as well as a T-shirt worn by Raquel Welch, one of the greatest movie stars of the era. The T-shirt simply said "I scored with Osgood “To this day, Peter Osgood's status in the London club is unrivalled Harris was a member of the Chelsea side which won the FA Youth Cup in 1961 and made his senior club debut in February 1962 in a 1-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday. Within a year, he had established himself as a regular in the side, a position he would hold for the next eighteen years with 655 appearances. He formed an important part of new Chelsea manager Tommy Docherty's youth-oriented re-building of the club after relegation from the First Division alongside the likes of Peter Bonetti, Peter Osgood and Bobby Tambling. * PETER HOWSON OBE (SCOTTISH b. 1958), THE PATRIOTS oil on canvas, signedframed image size 75cm x 60cm, overall size 95cm x 80cm Note: In the late 80s and early 90s, Howson embarked on a thematic exploration of what his biographer Robert Heller describes as his ‘Patriots’: the fascists, the football hooligans, the bully boys of the UK... “People who use brute force for brute ends”. It would go on to become the facet of his work for which he is arguably best known. The brutish and muscular ‘Game Boy’s’ raise their fists in a gesture pitched somewhere between a neo-Nazi salute and the celebratory stance of a football fan or roused member of a street mob. He sports the typical uniform of baseball cap and too-tight t-shirt, a nod of ridicule on Howson’s part, but with sinister “wrist gauntlets that furl out into a threatening combination of football scarf and leather strap”. The figure’s face is contorted into a mask of “swinish hate”, as Heller puts it.Condition of the picture is good overall, with no visible or known issues.
