BSA: a .297/230 Martini Cadet rifle built on a Francotte patent small Martini action for the Commonwealth of Australia, serial number 76667, barrel 27.5 in. and marked 'BARREL MADE BY THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARM Co Ld BIRMINGHAM 1907' (believed to indicate replacement of the barrel in that year), military type tangent/ladder back sight, action with Francotte patent stamp and sold-out-of-service mark, stocked to within 2.75 in. of the muzzle with steel fore-end cap and two barrel bands, butt with stamped roundel for the Commonwealth of Australia Military Forces, Victoria, Birmingham proof.
