GWR cardboard Jigsaw `Lost In Transit`, made by the Chad Valley Company. Made up to show completeness and exceptional condition. The original box accompanies this rare puzzle that was only issued to Staff and, unlike the wooden jigsaws, never for sale to the general public. Image shows a very disappointed little boy and girl looking rather forlornly at their damaged King George V GWR Locomotive. Within the jigsaw are the words " Lost In Transit! Damaged Through Thoughtlessness - £84,000 was paid on claims last year but compensation for unsatisfactory service still leaves dissatisfied customers - Would You Be Annoyed If Your Goods Arrived Damaged? - please help to keep traders satisfied and so prevent business being lost to other carriers". The box, which is in reasonable condition, has the original label which states " May you and yours find entertainment at home in solving this Jig-Saw Puzzle. If its message goes home, you will help to solve a big problem facing the Company". The accompanying box has a piece missing from the side.
GWR Jigsaw Puzzle `Britain`s Mightiest` 150 pieces, with one, extremely well matched replaced piece, otherwise extremely good. Brown label box is in fair condition. Comprises:- folding board showing map, three painted loco pieces, six pawn counters and die. Well played with and the box has one side missing from lid and the rest is torn but repairable. A scarce game indeed.
