Das oval fassonierte Becken im Spiegel mit dem bekrönten Allianzwappen des Marquis de Montmelas und seiner Gemahlin Marguerite Catherine Hainault, einer früheren Maitresse des Königs Louis XV. Der hochgezogene, am Abschluss profilierte Rand mit gegossenen und äußerst fein ziselierten Blütenfestons und Schleifen; dazwischen, an den Schmalseiten Muscheln und paarweise angeordnete Delfhine, an den Längsseiten in gewundenen Lorbeerkränzen stehende Tauben. Auf der großen birnförmigen Kanne wiederholt sich das Thema der Muscheln und Delfinpaare und wird ergänzt von Schwänen und Reihern. Den figürlichen Henkel bildet eine weibliche Herme als Halbfigur der Venus, dem auf dem muschelförmigen Deckel liegenden Amor einen Blütenkranz reichend. Unter dem runden Ausguss eine verkleinerte Wiederholung des gravierten Allianzwappens.
