An oak sectional bookcase, five tier, circa 1930. Width 35.5 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The bookcase is in generally very good order with no significant issues. The colour is good and we cannot see any significant damage. There are some minor surface scratches and scuffs as one would expect but no issues of any significance and the piece could be used or resold in its current condition without the need for any repair or restoration.
An Arts & Crafts mahogany secretaire bookcase, with series of glazed doors above an open aperture, the base fitted with a secretaire drawer, other drawers and cupboards. Width 117 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The large drawer is a secretaire drawer with fitted writing interior. The four drawers are each 20 ins x 3.5 ins. The top drawer is stamped Lamb Manchester. All four drawers open . The cupboard width 20 ins, height 22 ins. The cupboard is locked and we do not have a key. All other cupboards and drawers are open. It should not be difficult to open the locked cupboard however time is not on our side at the moment. Generally speaking the piece is of very good quality and in good order with no visible damage, no repairs and no restoration. The colour is generally very good. The top surface of the chest section has some small dents and scratches but these are old and simply in keeping with the piece. The secretaire drawer works as it should. The interior inkwells are missing. The drawer and cupboard fronts are in very good order with no damage. The sides of the piece are in very good condition also. The lot could be used or resold in its current condition without the need for any restoration. The depth of the writing area from the pigeonholes to the front edge is 16 ins. The height of the drawer is 9 ins, depth at deepest point 19.5 ins, the depth of the bookcase top is 12 ins.
