WALES v ENGLAND 1945 War Charity International 5 May 1945 played at Ninian Park, programme and ticket. The ticket has left hand corner missing, possibly torn on entry, complimentary stamp on front and F.A of Wales stamp to back. The programme has the lower third cropped leaving the field of play which has been signed by 12 players and officials including Winter, Hughes, Davies, Burgess, Astbury, Lucas and Cumner for Wales and Matthews for England. Slight marks. Fair

Provenance: Purchased from Bonhams, The Friends of Soil Hill Charity Sale of Contemporary Ceramics, 1988 (lot no. 3). CONDITION REPORT: Appears good with no obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.

Four marked or named pearlware plates circa 1780, one by Astbury, another by Turner, one impressed I.H thought to be John Harrison, another impressed with H.M.P.C. monogram, all painted in underglaze blue, (4) 25cm diameter Condition report: The IH plate has minor rim chips and short hairline. The Astbury plate and Turner plate are broken and restuck. The H.M.P.C. plate is in good condition.

Astbury), officially impressed, bar mounted for wearing; together with a near corresponding group of dress miniatures, with 1914 Star and oak leaves to Victory Medal, bar mounted for wearing; also official certificates showing that Lieut. / Capt. Astbury was mentioned in despatches twice, namely by Field Marshal Sir John French, 30th November 1915; and General Sir E.H.H. Allenby, 23rd October 1918.

Five Pearlware plates and a charger circa 1800 one marked Astbury, with moulded feather edging, painted with floral sprays and chinoiserie scenes in underglaze blue, the charger measures 36cm diameter Condition report from left to right of main image: 1: three small flat rim chips, foot chip and stained crazing. 2: glaze scratching, stains and wear, mainly to reverse. 3: minor rim nicks. 4: marked Astbury, with six rim chips to face, one to reverse and 5cm hairline crack, some staining. 5: two hairline cracks, two rim chips to face, footrim nick. 6: Two minor footrim nicks.
