A Namiki lacquer silver box, by Alfred Dunhill, London 1934, of shaped rectangular form, decorated with a barrow of flowers, character marks to reverse, with gilt interior, 6cm long Additional information received from the Dunhill archives suggests that the artist is HARUO Kiyono. He was born in 1895 and joined Namiki company in 1929.The box is likely to have been retailed directly by Namiki as the Dunhill-commissioned products sold in the London and Paris shops were usually signed Dunhill. Hallmark is for Dunhill.
Alfred Dunhill - A rare, possibly unique, silhouette pipe. Said to represent The Prince of Wales, impressed `OD DUNHILL LONDON` registration No. 654638, 14cms, (5½"). Footnote: A pipe of very similar design with a silhouette of The Prince of Wales, later Edward VIII and The Duke of Windsor, dated 1933, formed part of the Alfred Dunhill Museum Collection. The pipe here offered differs in the design of the bowl block, the pipe is offered with copy correspondence from The Alfred Dunhill Museum dared May 1999.
