Two 19th Century Medicine Boxes Once the Property of Thomas Bollen Seath; a renowned shipbuilder. One made of rosewood with silver metal stringing to the edges, an inset lozenge escutcheon & cartouche to the lid inscribed S.S. Oaks 1881, opening to reveal 24 glass medicine phials with turned yew-wood button stoppers, 2¾ ins x 8 ins x 5¼ ins (7 cms x 20 cms x 13.5 cms). The other box being smaller & composed of tin with painted inscription on lid T.B.S. Medicine 1861.
