A brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss by Ketland & Co, c 1785, 30" overall, 2 stage bell mouth barrel 14½" with octagonal breech bearing early type Birmingham proof marks and Irish registration number "S 5039", large flat stepped lock with swan neck cock, the plate engraved "Ketland & Co" (partly obscured); elegant walnut fullstock with shell carving around breech tang, brass mounts including ribbon sideplate, classical escutcheon and trigger guard with acorn finial; original horn tipped wooden ramrod with steel worm.
