An Edward VII presentation light cavalry type sword for best swordsman, straight fullered blade 35” by Robt Mole & Sons, Birmingham, Makers to the War and India Offices, numbered M4652 on the backstrap, and etched with crowned ERVII cypher and “Presented by Lt Col Sir William Baird, Bart, to Sergt John E B Cowper, D Squadron, Lothians and Berwickshire Imperial Yeomanry, as Best Swordsman in the Regiment at Annual Training, July 1902” heavy triple bar silver plated hilt, the bars formed as oak sprays, wirebound sharksking grip, ornamental backstrap and pommel with yeomanry helmet and oak leaves, in its plated scabbard.
