An untouched pair of 20 bore flintlock holster pistols, by Thomas, c 1775, 13½”, barrels 8” engraved with tear drop panels, early style rounded locks with swan neck cocks and unbridled frizzens, plain walnut fullstocks with plain silver wire inlaid panel around barrel tangs; brass mounts including oval escutcheons, open work sideplates and simple domed buttcaps, horn tipped ramrods. GWO&C, the locks retaining traces of original bright steel finish (barrels and locks lightly pitted overall, one ramrod slightly damaged and lacking worm). Plate 7
