HANK TYLER (ME, 1944 - ) - "Dunlin Sandpipers", in osage orange, signed on underside, dated 2012 and marked no 308. Polished figures on integral plinth, carved from a section of the trunk. 8 1/2" x 9" x 10 1/2". Fine condition. Tyler is internationally known, having studied under Charles 'Chippy' Chase, appearing in many exhibitions, publications and collections since the late 1960s. He uses many different hardwoods, always working from a single piece, hand carving with chisels and finishing only in tung oil.
