HIGHBOY - 18th c. American Two-part Queen Anne Mahogany Flat Top Highboy. The top section has a molded applied cornice with a secret drawer over a center carved fan drawer flanked by small drawers. Four full width graduated drawers below. The base has a long narrow drawer with a large single fan carved drawer with simulated drawer fronts on either side. A blocked apron with center cut-out, scroll shaped apron on the sides. The case is maple with tiger maple legs and mahogany drawer fronts. 72" tall, 34 1/2" (top) x 37" (base) x 19 1/2" deep at base. Old replaced Chippendale batwing brasses, old refinish, two minor top lip chips, six returns at top of legs are old replacements, normal minor shrinkage cracks. From a Maryland estate.
