RARE FOLK ART EAGLE LECTERN - Early 19th c Philadelphia Lectern in black painted red walnut, a full-bodied spreadwing eagle standing atop a sphere, supported by octagonal gothic column & base. Found many years ago in an enclosed stairway of a building being dimantled in the historic district. Probably from a fraternal organization or craft guild, circa 1820-50. 62 1/2" tall, 21" wide. Lacking podium tablet, minor rubs and scuffs to finish.
