A DOG-LOCK MUSKETOON BY T. BANISTER, LATE 17TH CENTURY with heavy brass barrel belled at the muzzle and formed with a raised moulding behind, struck with proof marks and the barrelsmith~s mark at the breech formed with a raised band incorporating the back-sight, iron tang, signed flat lock with bevelled tail, fitted with dog safety-catch and faceted pan, full stock (chipped about the lock, formed with a raised moulding about the tang, the butt with flattened spine, brass mounts comprising pierced scrolling side-plate, butt-plate with slender tang, and a single moulded ramrod-pipe, and iron trigger-guard and wooden ramrod 69.5 cm; 27 3/8 in barrel
