A 20 BORE FLINTLOCK TURN-OFF PISTOL BY ISRAEL (2) SEGALAS, LONDON, CIRCA 1730 with three-stage cannon barrel, signed engraved action stamped with London view and proof and the barrelsmith`s mark beneath, pierced with a threaded aperture into the breech chamber, the latter sealed by a screw-in plug extending from the forward portion of the trigger-guard (later), rotating pan operated by an engraved moulded lever on the right (cock replaced), figured walnut butt carved with a leafy moulding about the tang, silver-mounts comprising pierced rococo side-plate, vacant escutcheon and grotesque mask butt-cap, and engraved steel trigger-guard (areas of pitting) 33cm; 13in

Israel Segalas, Jr., was apprenticed to Lewis Barber in 1729, Free of the Gunmakers` Company in 1745 and died in 1774.
