A CASED PAIR OF 60 BORE FRENCH PERCUSSION RIFLED TRAVELLING PISTOLS BY DEVISME À PARIS, NO. 1235, DATED 1854 with signed blued octagonal rifled sighted barrels inlaid with a silver band at each end, stamped with the date, the serial numbers and the maker`s name beneath the breeches, scroll-engraved tangs fitted with standing back-sights, highly figured walnut half-stock, angular finely chequered grips, scroll-engraved steel mounts comprising numbered trigger-guards and oval butt-caps, and retaining some original finish throughout: in original fitted mahogany case, the exterior with vacant escutcheon, the interior lined in purple velvet (small areas of damage and fading), complete with its original accessories comprising combined nipple-wrench and bullet mould with sprue-cutter, powder-flask, and ramrod 15cm; 6in
