A PAIR OF 140 BORE FLINTLOCK MUFF PISTOLS BY MCFARLANE, EDINBURGH, BIRMINGHAM PROOF MARKS, CIRCA 1830 with blued turn-off barrels engraved with foliage around the muzzle, signed box-lock actions engraved with trophies-of-arms within foliate frames, sliding thumb-piece safety-catches also locking the steels, blued folding triggers, finely chequered walnut butts, vacant silver escutcheons, and engraved silver-plated butt-caps: in a lined and fitted mahogany case, complete with combined barrel wrench turnscrew, bullet mould and powder-flask 11.8cm; 4 5/8in (2)
