Primarily a painter, I also work with thrown and hand-built ceramics. Drawing on my rigorous training in the field of contemporary Public Art, the main thrust of my practice lies in creating site specific work for healthcare, corporate and domestic settings. I participate in many group exhibitions. These, and frequent solo exhibitions, provide an important opportunity to develop and explore themed experimental work. Previous Experience: 1982-1991 Set up and ran a design studio (Jane Spencer Associates) in London specialising in textile and surface pattern design. With responsibility as lead artist working with a team of designers, I regularly exhibited at major venues worldwide, working with clients in New York, Frankfurt, London and N Ireland. 1966-1982 Worked as a freelance illustrator and textile designer with leading UK manufacturers and retail store groups, creating innovative new collections and undertaking design commissions.
