A Japanese Shibayama Inlaid Tusk Vase, late Meiji period, circa 1900, worked on one side with two doves in flight and alighting upon a lantern amongst flowering prunus and peonies, on the other with a wading bird in a pool beneath flowering shrubs, in mainly mother of pearl, tortoiseshell and stained ivory, engraved two character mark on mother of pearl kakihan, issuing from a silver metal collar, on a fluted and carved wood stand, {31cm high overall} (losses to flying dove and small floral losses, rim with drying-out crack)
