An unusual engraved Teapot and Cover, early 20th century, the melon-form body diamond-engraved and black-filled with the poet Tao Qian (365-427) and a boy reading a book under a pine tree, and a poem, the reverse with characters including qing qin shi pi (the fresh aroma of poem affects the inside) and shizhai renxiong daren yawan (for the appreciation and pleasure of big brother), made by Tie(?) Xuan and dated 1907, loops for handle, the cover with peach knop, 13cm overall (2) The tradition of the literati was still current in the early 20th century, exemplified by this teapot.
