A silver and enamel covered dish and spoon, designed by C R Ashbee for The Guild of Handicraft, 1903, The loop handled dish with a spreading base and a cover with cherry red enamel and a tall knop set with a blister pearl, 25cm wide The spoon also set with blister pearl, 14.5cm long (3) Provenance: Purchased by the vendor's grandfather in 1904, thence by decent CF: Alan Crawford, C R Ashbee, 'Architect, Designer & Romantic Socialist', Yale 1985, p. 335, fig. 169 'Modern English Silverwork, an Essay by C R Ashbee, together with a series of designs by the Author drawn upon a hundred separate lithographic plates and coloured by hand with a descriptive index', p. 17, plate 17.
