Three albums of 1920's photographs relating to no 14 Squadron RAF in the Middle East, taken by R N H Pearce of the RAF Photographic Section based in Ramleh, Palestine, now Ramla in Israel.The first album of approximately 100 photographs begins in Jerusalem and includes the Wailing Wall, street scenes and bazaars, Government House and several aerial views, continues with Bethlehem including Garden of Gethsemanie, Amman, Petra and Jaffa including scenes at the well and local boys, aerial views of Jaffa and Tel Aviv, aircraft including Vickers Victoria and Southampton sea plane and no 14 Squadron jazz band 1924The second album comprises approximately 48 photographs, many aerial views and aircraft in flight including Night-hawk over No 8 Squadron, DH9A in Iraq, Amman Camp, Petra, River Jordan Jericho, Kurcuk 'Drome, Haifa etc, also many aircraft and personnel including 55 Squadron Kurcuk, AOC inspecting 14 Squadron RAF, Neba-Saleh at Ramleh, Inspection by Sir John Salmon at Ramleh, the Jaffa train at Ludd and images of Iraq including Baghdad.The third album of approximately 48 photographs comprises several aerial views including Jericho, war cemeteries in Palestine, Ramleh village and 14 Squadron base, further Ramleh etc., many images of everyday life in Ramleh including pottery bazaar, personnel and aircraft including forced landing, preparing breakfast, dinner beside the railway line, 'Drome showing three types of machine, Vickers Vinny from Egypt with 'spare engine' and Vickers Vernon ambulance, and finally HMS Caradoc and Queen Elizabeth.
