A German light Cavalry ZischŠgge,mid-17th Century with hemispherical skull formed in one piece and fitted with a very small pointed ring finial, narrow pointed peak, sliding nasal-bar, neck-guard of four lames with undulating subsidiary edges and moving on sliding rivets, and plain bevelled edges throughout (light rust, the cheek-pieces missing); and a rare German light Burgonet for a Styrian Harquebusier (Schutzenhaube), circa 1577-79, with one-piece skull rising to a comb, pivoted pointed peak struck with a mark, and one cheek-piece of three lames (the comb extensively holed, the neck-guard a crude modern replacement, the cheek-piece associated) the first: 22.8cm; 9in high (3)
