Italian 16th century and later A bronze inkstand in the form of a kneeling satyr holding a torch. The stand, inkwell and torch 16th century, the satyr possibly a later 19th century addition. See a very similar inkstand in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, with satyr by the workshop of Desiderio da Firenze (Italian, active Padua 1532-45), no. 1975.1.1395 Dimensions: (With stand) 10 in.
