Barrel in resin, silver and gold.

Pelikan Souveran M1000 "Blue Planet" Limited edition of 540 pieces.
The limited edition "Blue Planet" is dedicated to the fascinating science of astronomy. Like its predecessors "Myth of the Moon Goddess", "Hercules" and "Caelum", this Pelikan fountain pen is handmade by skilled craftsmen. The timeless design and strictly limited worldwide production of this writing instrument are a special tribute to the unique view of our home planet from space. The faint layer of clouds is embedded in the transparent lacquer coating and forms a harmonious contrast to the anthracite black of deep space.
The top of the lid and the decorative rings of gold-plated sterling silver give this writing instrument a special high-quality style. Stylised engravings of lines of longitude and latitude decorate the handle end of the cobalt-blue fountain pen, also made of gold-plated sterling silver.
The 18-karat gold nib at the tip of this masterpiece was carefully polished by a master's hand and features rhodium-plated decorations over much of its surface.
