The book contains letters between 1924 and 1948 from Mahatma Gandhi to Madeline Slade (Mira) who was a British woman who left Britain to live and work with Gandhi the leader of the Indian Independence Movement. She devoted her life to human development and the advancement of Gandhi's principles. Mira saved all the letters Bapu wrote to her and published 386 of 650.
