Each etching was published by Carel Allard in Amsterdam ca 1705, but has a different imaginary address engraved below. (Source Rijksprentenkabinet Amsterdam:) First set: The Royal Almanac of Louis XIV, 1705, the seven virtues 1. Charity: First etching with King Louis XIV as a sun god sitting in the centre of the sun with the 24 rays. Each ray shows a crime committed by the king. Top left the solar eclipse of May 12, 1706. References: FMH 3073-(1a), Atlas van Stolk 3162. 2. Faith: Second etching with Cartoon of Lodewijk Willem, Margrave of Baden-Baden, bribed to the French side by King Louis XIV. The Margrave asleep at a table of gold pieces. References: FMH 3075-(2a), Atlas of Stolk 3164 . 3.Temperance: third etching with Harlequin (King Louis XIV) with triangle and hump, persuades Lodewijk Willem, Margrave of Baden-Baden, who is weighing money, to defect to the French side. References: FMH 3081-(3a), Atlas of Stolk 3171. 4, Hope: fourth etching, a complaint from Theresia Kunigunde Sobieska, Elector of Bavaria (wife of Maximilian II Emanuel, Elector of Bavaria), 1705. Important Information

Internet live auction (behind closed doors) of Old Master Prints. We auction each lot one by one, approximately 80 lots an hour. Guaranteed original work from mainly 16th and 17th century. Letter of authenticity available on request. A small fee may apply.

The auction includes works by the most prominent old masters, such as Durer, Rembrandt, Wierix, Van Leyden, Goltzius, Van Ostade. In general all schools and subjects are present: German, Italian, French, Flemish and Dutch. We also added a nice selection around the famous Leonardo da Vinci studies of deformed heads; 

The items have extensive item descriptions and several photos (Many more photos for each lot are available at www.oldmasterprint.net).
In-house international shipping at perhaps the lowest cost on the market, all this to allow the bidder a hassle-free experience.

* Telephone bidding during the auction is possible according to availability. Make your reservation for telephone bidding at least two days in advance by email.

The auction has an international audience and works with written bids or internet bids only. The internet bids can be made before the start of the auction or 'live' during the auction. For reasons of efficiency no physical inspection of the goods is provided.

Each lot is described to the best of our ability and in good faith. No responsibility will be taken for faults or incomplete info. If you are uncertain of an aspect of the item we advise you to conduct your research in advance to stand stronger while bidding. Please feel free to ask us for more info.

The condition is shown by photo's.(see for more photos for each lot at www.oldmasterprint.net).  Please check them before bidding and feel free to ask more info if needed. Additional questions about condition or description must be send 48 hours prior to the start of the live auction.

Old Master Print cannot be held responsible for any technical failure of one of the auction platforms involved in the bidding process. Old Master print takes no responsibility for any misuse of login data unless this is caused by intent or gross negligence by Old Master Print or one of his cooperators.

All disputes over the sale fall as appropriate, under the jurisdiction of the Belgium law, regardless of the domicile of the parties. The Courts of Belgium, and in particular, the justice of peace of the District of IZEGEM or the courts of the judicial district of West Flanders, KORTRIJK section, have exclusive jurisdiction to settle all disputes arising in connection with all aspects of all matters or transactions to which these Conditions of Business relate or apply
The European consumer protection and, in particular, the strict Belgian implementation is applicable. A private citizen if resident of the European Community can return the item for a full refund within 14 days after receipt without limitation of his other rights as provided by the European consumer protection.

Payment:
Accepted forms of payment:
Mastercard, Visa, American Express (Through Stripe invoice), Wire Transfer (European bidders), 
Payments must be made in full within 7 business days after receipt of the invoice. The auction house preserves the right to charge the credit card of the buyer 7 days after the auction if not paid before, this according the authorization given by the buyer during the registering process of his credit card on the auction platform of Invaluable.
No responsibility will be taken for the lots if not paid within the prescribed period.

If a lot is not paid in full within 2 weeks, an interest will be charged of 12% a year. If full payment is not made after one month old master print reserves the right to resell the lots and charge the original defaulting bidder with both the difference and the expenses incurred.

All items are sold using the Margin Scheme and it should be noted that the VAT included in bid price and premium is not recoverable as input tax.
