Montagny, Jean-Pierre (French, 1789-1862); b. Saint-Etienne FRANCE, L’arc de l’Etoile terminé, or L'Arc de Triomphe est terminé [The Star Arc Completed, or Completion of the Arc de Triomphe], 1836, a copper medal by J.-P. Montagny, bust of Napoléon I right, rev. star above elevation of the Arc de Triomphe, 52mm, 66.63g (Bramsen 1951; CGMP p.142; Slg. Julius 3947; cf. Höhn 101, 585; cf. WAG 72, 1941; cf. BSJ 37, 549). Extremely fine, reflective patina £80-£100 --- Provenance: Bt H.-D. Rauch July 2004. The Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile, often called simply the Arc de Triomphe, located at the western end of the Champs-Élysées, was designed by the architect Jean-François-Thérèse Chalgrin (1739-1811) in 1806. The foundations had been laid by 1808 but the structure was not completed until 1836. The body of Napoléon passed under it on 15 December 1840, en route to Les Invalides

Within the UK
If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.
Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.
