ELIZABETH BUTLER "On Easter Day", a needlework sampler depicting a Chinese Woodcock surmounted by cherubs and script entitled "On Easter Day" inscribed "Elizabeth Butler is my Name" and "Old England is my Nation", "Horton is my Dwelling Place" and "Christ is my Salvation - God Save The King 1803", 37 cm x 33 cm, together with another sampler by Julia Ann Read Butler Aged 7 (circa 1858) and a leather covered photograph album with approx 60 Butler family portraits, a hand-painted postcard "From Horseshoe Farm Horton..." and a 19TH CENTURY ENGLISH SCHOOL "Gentleman with sideburns", watercolour portrait
CONDITION REPORTS
"On Easter Day" - has large holes throughout, particularly to the bottom right hand corner and to the left hand side of the bird as well as others - both moth and wear. Insects beneath the glass. Has all over discolouration. The other sampler - has some marks to the bottom text area and has insects - possibly thunderbugs? beneath the glass. Otherwise general wear and tear conducive with age and use. See images for further detail.
