Description
A 19th Century Chinese rosewood urn stand, the rosso marble inlaid octagonal top with beaded edge over a pierced frieze with ornate prunus blossom decoration raised on four prunus blossom carved cabriole supports united by an X stretcher 40 cm diameter x 60 cm high
CONDITION REPORTS
Whilst the piece is basically sound throughout, there are some shrinkage areas to the top at the point of the joints very slightly. Some surface scratching to the marble. The frieze is intricately carved but has several areas of loss to one section of the frieze, just half of the bottom flower missing. The next section with area to the right of the bottom flower missing approx. 4 cm. The next with larger section missing approx. 10 cm wide. One section appears in fairly good order though with some wear. The legs appear to be in good condition though with some wear conducive with age and use, the cross stretchers appear to have some shrinkage/looseness at the joints - see images for further detail
