CATH B GULLEY RWA "Woman hanging washing, a thatched cottage in background", watercolour, heightened
Condition Report
Whilst overall visual impression is good, the paper appears to be slightly browned with some fading, arguable to the paint work, though this does appear to be uniform, there is a light dark mark to the left of the chimney, giving the appearance of an ink stain and what appears to be specific fading to the right of the chimney in two small blocks or paler colour. See images for detail of this. There is also a crack/ crease at an angle across the middle section of the painting from the under side of the left sheet to just under the girls chin, approx 19cm. See images for detail. The frame appears basically sound, although with some signs of wear to the corners, otherwise it is assumed the minor scratches, dents etc are part of the original design. See images for more detail.
