A GOLDSCHEIDER FIGURE OF THE CAPTURED BIRD MODELLED BY JOSEF LORENZL as a dancer, her costume with wings painted in deep pinkish red, blue, yellow and black, poised on an oval base with roses spilling from an urn, 47cm h, impressed 5230/3042/65, incised 16 P, printed mark, painted decorator`s monograms and initials including AS in compendium and 22, c1922 The figure was inspired by a dance performed by Niddy Impekoven (1904-2002). Comparative Literature: Pinhas (O), Goldscheider A Catalogue of Selected Models, Shepton Beauchamp 2006, p118 and dust jacket illustrations. ++Minute flat chip on the lower edge of one end of the base, no restoration
