oil on board, signed framed image size 38.5cm x 28.5cm, overall size 50cm x 40cm Note: Ewan McClure is a freelance painter and is currently (since 2018) Artist in Residence at Broughton House, Kirkcudbright. Following his appearances as finalist on Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year, 2013, where he painted Michael Kerr, Sophie Dahl and AP McCoy, his rapidly executed, realist portraiture has been in steady demand both in the UK and abroad. He was selected as a finalist in the BP Portrait award 2013, and in 2015 was shortlisted for the prestigious Conversations Prize for his multi-figure painting, Interlude, at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. Practicing observational still-life and landscape painting as well as portraiture, his work hangs in private and public collections including The Robert Fleming collection, Princeton Theological Seminary and The Royal Scottish Academy. Ewan's most recent solo exhibition was "New Work" at The Kirkcudbright Galleries, May 13 - August 13, 2023.
