AFTER YU XING (1692 - 1767), FIGURAL SCROLL, 20TH CENTURY

ink and colour on paper, depicting three figures in a naturalisic setting seated by a table, with two further onlookers by a tree, bearing chinese text (partly translating to "When asked what I meant, Yang Bishan smiled but did not answer. My heart was in the lake. Peach blossums and flowing water left me. There was another world, not the human world") as well as four seals to the main image and border, contained within a cylindrical scroll box, this also bearing Chinese text, part translating to 'Replublic of China' 'National Palace Museum'. Along with a reproduction scroll with calligraphy to a yellow ground
