A pair of antique flintlock box-lock pocket pistols the flat-sided walnut butts inlaid with silver scrolls, the foliate engraved actions signed Freeman, London, with brass 4in (10cm) turn-off cannon barrels, trigger guard safety catches, stamped with private proof marks, total length 8in (20cm). * Provenance - Christies Antique Arms Sale, London, July 21st 1976, Lot 191. Possibly by James Paul Freeman, who was appointed master of The Gunsmiths Company in 1732.
