An unusual George III silver teapot, Charles Aldridge, London 1789-90. of oval shape, the faceted tapering body with floral bright cut detail, rising sides to an oval hinged cover with bright cut border and carved wood leaf finial, the wood handle of simple form, the spout of tapering ribbed form all on a flared panelled oval pedestal foot with further engraved detail, 18cm high, 31cm overall length, 21oz all in. Provenance: Christie’s October 20th 1998 lot 358. Garrard and Co. 1975
