A George III silver gilt sideboard dish, William Plummer, London 1789, of lobed circular form, each segment decorated with a different flower, trailing central border with a rising centre of a laurel wreath and a Tudor rose to the centre 39.5cm diameter, 40oz With a later inscription " Presented to WILLIAM ROME by the OFFICERS AND CLERKS committee of the CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF LONDON in commemoration of his chairmanship 1895" A similar dish was sold recently at Woolley & Wallis
