Important Information

Late entries - an additional 75 lots of militaria consigned by a single-owner will comprise lots 600-677 in this auction.  Please note that they will be sold following the Militaria section (after lot 408) NOT at the end of the whole sale despite the lot numbering being out of sync.

Important Notice regarding Third Reich items

Please note that owing to the large number of reproduction Third Reich and Imperial German items on the market, we can give no guarantee as to the authenticity of any such items.  Prospective purchasers must satisfy themselves in this regard before bidding.  We WILL NOT accept any returns on these items.

Important Notice:  Due to high levels of fraud in the buying of gold and related items, we have had to introduce the following measures for gold and jewellery items:

  • The maximum payment by credit/debit card over the telephone is £500.  We strongly recommend buyers use the brank transfer facility.
  • Gold & jewellery items paid for by card over the telephone will not be shipped or released to couriers for at least 5 working days after payment has been made.

We trust that potential buyers understand why we have taken these precautions. and that by being vigilant we hope to reduce the instances of credit card fraud which affect not just auction houses, but also vendors, and the unsuspecting owners of fraudulently used credit cards.

Due to a recent rise in credit card fraud, particularly in respect of gold and jewellery lots, we are no longer able to accept payments by credit or debit cards for these items over the telephone. Card payments are still accepted at our saleroom in person, and for all other types of lots bought. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you. Payments not made in person can be made by bank transfer to our account: CLIENT: Lacy Scott & Knight; BANK: LLOYDS; SORT CODE: 309149; ACCOUNT NO: 01619573

Buyer's Premium 20% + VAT

Some lots may be subject to Droit de Suite (Artists Resale Right). As of February 2006 all United Kingdom Art Market professionals (including auctioneers) are required to collect a royalty payment for all Works of Art which have been produced by Living Artists. A percentage of 4% is payable on lots with a hammer price in excess of 1000 (approx. £800). We have clearly marked which lots may be eligible for this royalty payment throughout the catalogue, and the charge will apply if the hammer price is more than the UK Sterling equivalent of £1,000.There is no VAT payable on this royalty charge. Purchasers of works of art subject to Droit de Suite (ARR) will pay Lacy Scott & Knight a 4% (inclusive of VAT) premium on the hammer price in addition to the buyer's premium (this will be included in your invoice). Lacy Scott & Knight will then pass this onto the Design & Artists Copyright Society. For further details please contact the Auctioneers or visit www.dacs.org.uk
