PudelRosenthal AG, Selb Plössberg 1953-1956. Porzellan, weiß, glasiert. Unter der Glasur polychrom bemalt. Unter der Glasur grüne Marke und handgemalt. Eingepresst: PROF. KÄRNER und 1163. H. 22 cm, L. 24,5 cm. Entwurf von Theodor Kärner (1884-1966). Bildhauer, Porzellanmodelleur, Maler, Zeichner, Plakatkünstler und Radierer. Von 1905 bis 1912 Hospitant bei Prof. Heinrich von Zügel an der Kunstakademie in München. Bereits am 1905 bis 1918 als Bildhauer bei der Kgl. Porzellanmanufaktur Nymphenburg angestellt. Von 1919 bis 1934 war Kärner freischaffender Bildhauer für die Porzellanfabrik Philipp Rosenthal & Co. AG, Selb und die Rosenthal Porzellanfabrik Bahnhof-Selb. Th. Kärner war von 1935 bis 1944/45 als künstlerischer Leiter der Porzellan Manufaktur Allach tätig. Bereits am Anfang seiner Arbeit wurde das getreue Abbild der Tiere in Haltung und Bewegung gewürdigt.
