This decorative watercolor of a southern landscape with a shepherd dates around 1900 and was painted by an artist with the initials ‘SH’. In the middle ground is a vacant stone house, which is bordered on the left by stone walls. Right in the foreground is a shepherd with his flock of sheep and a dog. The landscape appearing in the glaring sunlight awakens the longing for a stay in the south.

The watercolor is in good condition with minor signs of aging and wear. The mat shows foxing and water stains. The wooden frame has minimal wear. The overall framed dimensions are 37.5 x 44.5 cm.

Dieses dekorative Aquarell einer südlichen Landschaft mit Hirten datiert um 1900 und wurde von einem Künstler mit dem Monogramm „SH“ gemalt. Im Mittelgrund befindet sich ein leer stehendes Steinhaus, das an der linken Seite von Steinmauern gesäumt wird. Rechts im Vordergrund ist ein Hirte mit seiner Schafherde und einem Hund zu sehen. Die im gleißenden Sonnenlicht erscheinende Landschaft erweckt die Sehnsucht nach einem Aufenthalt im Süden.

Das Aquarell befindet sich in einem guten Zustand mit geringen Alterungs- und Gebrauchsspuren. Das Passepartout ist stock- und wasserfleckig. Der Holzrahmen hat minimale Gebrauchsspuren. Die gerahmten Gesamtmaße betragen 37,5 x 44,5 cm.
