This oil painting shows a lakeshore in the countryside, at the edge of a forest. It was made around 1900. The painting shows fine detail in the bricks of the houses, the trees and the boats.

The work is in age-related condition with signs of wear; it shows crazing and an unprofessional varnish coat. The upper left corner of the sky shows obvious signs of repair; the golden frame shows slight damage. The painting is signed ‘P. Brinson’ lower left; it has a label on the back with information about the watercolour painter John Paul Brinson but he is probably not the artist of this work. The canvas measures 30.5 x 57.5 cm; the frame measures 37.5 x 57.5 cm.

Dieses Ölgemälde einer ländlichen Uferszene mit Booten an einem Waldrand entstand um 1900. Detailreich sind die einzelnen Elemente, wie beispielsweise die Ziegel der Häuser, die Bäume und die Boote gemalt worden.



Das Werk ist in einem altersgemäßen Zustand mit Gebrauchsspuren. Es ist von einem feinen Krakelee überzogen und wurde mit einem Firnis grob abgedeckt. In der oberen linken Himmelsecke ist eine Fehlstelle sichtbar restauriert worden. Das Gemälde ist unten links mit „P. Brinson“ signiert Rückwärtig trägt es ein Etikett mit Informationen zu dem britischen Aquarellisten John Paul Brinson, der jedoch als Autor dieses Werkes eher ausgeschlossen werden kann. Es misst 30,5 x 51 cm; das Gesamtmaß im goldenen, leicht beschädigten Rahme beträgt 37,5 x 57,5 cm.
